JOEY Yorkdale - delicious cocktails & beers paired with diverse menu items are sure to impress!

WOW it's been such a long time since our last post.  We will try our best to keep the blogging momentum going again :)  During the break, we both got to visit lots of restaurant and also cook & bake that we're excited to share with you.

We'll start with Monica's visit to the new JOEY Restaurant that opened at Yorkdale Mall (Toronto):

As a fan of this chain of restaurant, which recently started popping up around Toronto, I wanted to have lunch there when I was shopping at Yorkdale Mall.

The interior was definitely a lot bigger than the Eaton Center location, with the bar, lounge and a few dining areas on the first floor and the main dining area on the second floor with an open kitchen.

(View down at the bar on the first floor from the second floor - lovely chandelier!)

As you can see, it has a beautiful interior that is very roomy and caters to a range of clientele.  The bar & lounge area downstairs is perfect for an after-work drink and mingling, white the dining area has a more cozy and intimate setting, perfect for a date or a get together with friends.

The vibe at JOEY restaurant is definitely hip, chic and sexy.

Wild & Creamy Mushroom Soup - delicious, one of the best I've had! Not too thick, not too thin, it was jut right with the right amount of cream.  It was rich enough to feel bits of mushroom.

I also tried one of their signature 'JOEY Bursts', which is one of three flavours (lime, strawberry, raspberry) with soda water.  It' very concentrated and delicious to drink if you want to opt out of an alcoholic drink.

Bacon Cheddar Burger with fries was high-stacked! I couldn't fit it in my mouth at once but had to squish it down.  The taste was very good, though.  The bread was fresh, soft and the burger was thick and well-seasoned.  The fries on the side was yummy too, although, it doesn't beat their sweet-potato fries.

UPDATE: Made another visit to JOEY Yorkdale over the weekend.  Had a few drinks and a different menu item this time, no other than their CAD sirloin.  They say it's their most flavourful steak, and they were right!  I was very impressed by the steak and the accompanying crispy mashed potato and seasonal veggies.  I could go back just for that cripsy mashed potato - it's the ultimate comfort food.

Overall, if you're going for a date or a night out with your girlfriends, I recommend trying one of JOEY restaurants in the city for its chic environment, yummy drinks and delicious food.
